Interesting note: these first five pages were drawn for the original pitch, WAY back in early 2006. I made a few changes before the book went to print. For instance, I originally had Fisk (the big purple guy, for you new readers) chained to the wagon, shackled by the neck with some chains hanging down, as if he were a prisoner. As I wrote beyond the first five pages, though, I realized I'd need Fisk to be able to roam the city freely, so the shackle and chains were digitally "painted" out.
